Foods, Sightseeing, and Experience in Tsukuba, JAPAN
We have a long holidays from the end of April and the beginning of May. It is called as Golden Week in Japan. The following four days are national holidays but 30 April (THU) and 1 May (FRI) is not in this year, 2015, therefore many people use paid holidays on the dates to make the holidays longer.
In this year, 6 May was the substitute national holiday because Constitution Memorial Day was on Sunday. If you use 4 paid holidays on 30 April, 1 May, 7 May, and 8 May as a result you can make 12 consecutive holidays as your Golden Week.
Many people go on a trip domestic or abroad in the holidays. Almost all travel agencies prepared special plans for domestic and overseas travels. If you had a plan to visit Japan from overseas, you should avoid the holidays because you will have to stand in a queue for long time wherever you go. By the way, Golden Week is not associated with gold at all.
