How About Japanese Luxury Pasta for Your Dinner

What meal are you going to have as dinner? I sometimes have no idea of what meal I want to have. My repertoire of recipes is limited and quickly run out. In this situation, a grocery store gives some choices for me. I bought a pasta sauce for spaghetti alle vongole, that is produced by Japanese food company, S&B Foods Inc. The package was really attractive and looked so delicious and luxury. The price is more a little expensive than ordinary products but it is still affordable.

As you can see in the picture, the sauce includes clams and salted cod roe spiced with red pepper (Karashi Mentaiko in Japanese) that is placed on the top of pasta. Clams give good broth that is simple taste. So Karashi Mentaiko gives accent on the taste with the red pepper and also gives good body that is derived from the roe.

This is the way to make the pasta with the product.

  1. Boil pasta in a pot
  2. The pouch is also heated in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes without opening the pouch. Or open the pouch and pour the sauce into a bowl, and heat the bowl in the microwave (about one minute for 500W or about 50 seconds for 600W).
  3. Transfer the sauce on the pasta and dress seasoning on the pasta.

The sauce is one of two kinds of pasta sauces produced as Miyabi pasta sauce where Miyabi is the series name and means elegance in Japanese. Other sauce is carbonara. The company expects that adult customers enjoy and understand the taste because the sauces are made from ingredients carefully selected.

I noticed that a black dish goes well with the pasta as you can see in the package. Black chopsticks are also placed in front of the dish. The contrast between white and black creates atmosphere of Miyabi.

I actually made it without any trouble and had the pasta with the sauce. It tasted as good but simpler as I expected. The pouch had a lot of broth resulting in that the past became like soup pasta by mixing the sauce and the pasta. I no longer saw Karashi Mentaiko in the picture below because I already mixed it with pasta.
